This page describes the intellectual-property position for Funder Compass (the "Service"), operated by eCapital Investments Group Pty Ltd (the "Software Owner"). It supplements the Terms of Use.
1. Ownership of the platform
The Service, including its software, source code, user interface, brand elements, documentation, calculators, templates and configuration data, is owned by the Software Owner or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade-mark and other intellectual-property laws. Nothing in the Terms of Use transfers ownership of the Service to any customer.
2. Customer data
Customers retain ownership of the loan, borrower, document and configuration data they upload to the Service. Customers grant the Software Owner a limited licence to host, process and display that data solely to operate and improve the Service, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Trade marks and brand
"Funder Compass" and the Funder Compass logo are trade marks of the Software Owner. You may not use our brand in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or certification without our prior written consent. Fair, factual references to the Service (for example, "we use Funder Compass to manage loan pipelines") are permitted.
4. Third-party content
The Service may include content, marks and materials owned by third parties (for example, embedded calculators sourced from publicly available government resources or open-source components). Those elements remain the property of their respective owners and are used under the applicable licence or fair-dealing exception.
5. Reporting infringement
If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual-property rights, email legal@fundercompass.com with:
- your full name, contact details and (if acting for a rights holder) authority;
- a description of the work you say has been infringed;
- the specific location within the Service where the content appears;
- a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or the law;
- your signature (electronic acceptable).
We assess each notice on its merits. Where we agree the content is infringing, we will remove or disable access to it. Repeated infringers may have their access to the Service suspended or terminated.
6. Feedback
Any feedback, suggestions or feature requests you submit are provided without obligation of confidentiality. The Software Owner may use that feedback to improve the Service without owing any consideration to the contributor.
